Suzanne Fatta
Contralto and musicologist Suzanne Fatta is pursuing a PhD in Historical Performance Practice at the University of York. She has studied Voice, Musicology, Medieval History and Religion at Oberlin, Harvard and Eastman in the USA. Sue is passionate about combining performance and scholarship; her dissertation is on performance practice in the villanelle of Sigismondo d'India. An experienced ensemble singer and soloist, Sue has performed in many concert and opera halls across the US and Europe and currently sings with many groups, including “Vivaldi’s Women” from the award-winning BBC documentary, as a Bass! Isabella von Holstein
Isabella von Holstein is working towards a PhD in scientific archaeology, focussing on medieval textile production and trade. Her background includes an undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. A long-time enthusiast of early music, she is now expanding her repertoire into the world of opera. She has previously sung with Canzonetta (Manchester) and the Joyful Company of Singers (London). Currently she performs with the Ebor Singers and studies singing privately with Jacqueline Edwards.
Laura Kishimoto
Laura Kishimoto is from Toronto, Canada. In the spring of 2006 she graduated with a Bachelor of Music Honours degree in theory and early music performance from the University of Western Ontario before coming to the University of York where she completed a Masters degree in Vocal Studies with the guidance of John Potter. Her experience spans both choral and solo work, and she particularly enjoys working with small a cappella ensembles. Currently, she is employed as a website designer in York and sings with the Juniper Vocal Ensemble and the Ebor Singers. Find her on Twitter as @chicgeek.
